Slumdog Millionaire was amazing. there were vivid colors and creative camera angles and the music was well chosen (with MIA songs, no less :D). The storyline reminded me quite a bit of millenium actress, an anime film I watched about a year ago that's long and epic and spans a character's whole life, flickering between the past and the present. The main character was really awesome - he had straight face for most of the movie, which made his smiles/other expressions when he saw the girl even more cute and powerful. He was also quite attractive, but perhaps I just like the impassive, sweet types. It was a bit sad to watch it though, because this really cool Indian guy moved to Washington DC a few weeks ago, and I couldn't help but think of him from time to time. Now I really want chai.
speaking of impassive people, I drove by Masami's little brother today just after deciding not to put in the japanese cd. my windows were down and we made eye contact for a split second and he had his "you are a flea" expression on (a step above the look of pure contempt he gave me the one time I talked to him, a conversation that consisted of "Masami! You're back from Japan??" xDD Katie laughed and laughed after he walked away). The random moment would have been beyond perfect had I only been blaring japanese rock music. xD
Chuck is hilarious, as usual. The third episode of the first season - the one with the tango - was the best so far because Captain Awesome showed up quite a bit. The gay comments were amusing, too. I just really like how there are no overdone or cheesy moments, the plot is always interesting, and how Chuck is kind of ordinary looking, like Pushing Daisies but more attractive. Jayne from Firefly is perfectly suited for his role as Casey, too. (he always gets girl names, even though he's so trigger-happy)
