This year, I PROBABLY won't be awake until midnight AOE (5am my time), so things won't reveal PRECISELY at deadline, but instead when I wake up around 7am PDT (which is UTC-7). So don't worry when there's a small delay! I'm just not awake and frantically finishing my podfic, for a change!

I will be mostly unreachable from 3/21 to 3/28, on the JoCo Cruise. If there's any fellow JoCoNauts, I'd love to meet up!

Why This Must Be Read: As Victoria Custer, LtLJ wrote higher-rated fics, and I'm especially fond of this one. There's some amnesia trope involved as John loses his memories and is partly transformed into an elf-like alien when he stumbles on a forgotten Ancient device off-world. In his new form he becomes the tribe's leader, with adventures fighting giant creatures in a huge alien forest, hunting, and sex with the lead female and the rest of the tribe. I love how fully John takes to this simpler, more free life. But as with all amnesia fics, he has to return to reality in the end, and his team and colleagues are desperate to retrieve him. A great mix of action/adventure, worldbuilding, uninhibited fun, and the bittersweetness of having to resume his responsibilities again.

Happy Saturday!

I'm going to be doing a little maintenance today. It will likely cause a tiny interruption of service (specifically for www.dreamwidth.org) on the order of 2-3 minutes while some settings propagate. If you're on a journal page, that should still work throughout!

If it doesn't work, the rollback plan is pretty quick, I'm just toggling a setting on how traffic gets to the site. I'll update this post if something goes wrong, but don't anticipate any interruption to be longer than 10 minutes even in a rollback situation.

Stockpile. Stockpiling is what occurs when a military force is left to their own devices without follow-on orders or guidance.

Atlantis Military personnel have been left alone onboard the city as they sit in the San Francisco Bay awaiting for guidance from the SGC and IOA about what their next steps will be. But when military members are left to their own devices without any of the civilians there to stop them they do as any military member would do while trapped in port. They start ordering supplies and making contingency plans.

Why This Must Be Read:

I'm a sucker for 'stealing Atlantis and going back to Pegasus' and this is right on the nose.

To be honest, this is largely an SGA story but Jack O'Neill is a primary player in this plot, and I'm glad to be able to share this fun story with you.

This is one of 12 stories in a collection titled "Stargate Downfall of Earth Various AUs" but they are all independent, so you can try just one to see if you'd like to try more.

Why This Must Be Read: Sholio describes this as a cracktastic AU - it's a fusion with the 1980s TV show Knight Rider. Sheppard is the detective rescued from death and paired with a modified Pontiac Firebird Trans Am controlled by an AI (ah, for the days when AI was cool!) - which is Rodney, in the fic. It's very cool and funny (when we get to Rodney), and an excellent read!

Whoops, I keep forgetting to post the third check-in!

So, that's 23 days left to get those podfics done! How is everyone faring? The fanfic I WANTED to post entered a hiatus, so that bit of work is being put aside, for me. However, last week I was able to record all of a fanfic I REALLY love, so now all I have to do is edit!

I hope everyone is feeling confident! It's been good to see so many people sign up, and I am very excited to see how things go on reveal day!
