I was listening to music on shuffle the other day, and The Sky Opened Wide Like the Tide by The Blow came on and I realized the lyrics are a perfect illustration of trying to find fandom centers now that everyone uses tumblr. It's good to have a fanmix for everything, I guess...?
In other fannish earcandy news, S has a job that is v conducive to the devouring of podfic and podcast, aaaand she showed me /report, which is rageprufrock, mkultz and random guests talking about different fandoms. It is so, so great and reminds me that I'm part of a huge community, not just the small circle of siblings and irl friends I discuss fandom with. ♥ Another fandom-centered podcast is slashcast, which I haven't listened to but have heard is equally lovely and more interview-focussed/has an actual structure.
S and R have decided that we should do a femmeslashcast, so I guess that's happening. They wanted to do it themed by genre, like, office shows, or superheroes, etc. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. :)
Parrish (the side character from SGA) is randomly in lots of movies I've seen, so I'm tempted to rewatch all of them so I can snicker to myself. Speaking of rewatches, despite knowing more than half the lines of the first X-Files movie, I'm still only now getting some scenes, haha. That is what happens when a) characters deliver minutes of exposition in monotone and b) you start watching a thing in elementary school.
