I got a lovely package from France today, and it turned out my elusive, hermiting friend had been buying us Christmas gifts in between not responding to our emails. So now I have Itachi's Akatsuki ring and it's clunky and perfect and every time I see my hand out of the corner of my eye, I feel dastardly and mysterious.

In other weird and amusing news, I watched the Season 4 in Review special features thing (it took stopping, fuming and then printing out episode summaries - which my versions of the DVDs don't have - and writing scathing things over the terrible ones to make myself be able to finish the season) and in it, Martin Gero mentions how Todd the Wraith and John have a "special bond. [significant pause] [coy look and mischevious smile at the camera] They were in prison together, that's all I'm saying [another significant look]." Which, what? Not only is Gero unaware of McShep, not only does he ship half of it with Carson, but he also ships Todd/John. Lol. What.

TPTB work in mysterious ways. If next season is as "character centric" as this one was, I'm going to scream. And then print out the episode list and write my disparaging comments in red, this time.

Unrelatedly, I heard the other day that apparently taekwon do is looked down on in the world of martial arts? I responded very huffily to this allegation until I realized the critique is just that it's useless (because it's primarily focussed on kicking rather than hand to hand or wrestling) and then it was fine. Because I kind of gravitate to useless things, haha.
