I've started exercising again for the first time in foreeeeeever and as terrible as running is, it feels great! Also, just to pass on this knowledge I came across yesterday, sneaking into a high school after dark to use their track is really, really creepy. So, uh, bring a flashlight or a friend if you plan to do so. That said, if you have reoccuring shin splints, a track >>> pavement.

Sleepy Hollow is back on air! For now. Because this season is so short. :( BUT I made a discovery! And that discovery is that Crane and Abbie have the same hairstyle and it's hilarious/great.

Also the outfit Abbie gave him looked like an outfit she could potentially wear, so they had the same hair and were dressed matchy-matchy and it was great. I wonder if it's to make it look like they have more in common than Abbie and her sister?

I really liked the Mills dysfunctional family feels bits, and how they hint toward something darker - that Jennie still has thoughts about harming Abbie. This would explain in part why they aren't a little closer than they could have been by now in the show.

I'm not sure that super makeup artisting the daughter while she was possessed was really necessary - Jennie looked plenty terrifying when possessed long term, but it wasn't animalistic. Maybe that's just because the demon was threatening completely squashing out her soul?

I may have successfully convinced S to write a Frozen AU for her spn big bang this year (Sam would be Christophe and Dean would be the reindeer, obvs). Step one: revel in success. Step two: somehow get the soundtrack of Frozen out of my head.

Also I just finished S3 of Sherlock (with a friend from college who is visiting! who also brought some random friend of hers to tag along for some reason :( ) and lol what even happened there.

RUNNING YES YAY I AM PROUD OF YOU WELCOME TO THE RUNNING CLUB. It gets easier if you stick with it consistently for like 2 weeks.

Also, yes agree re: Sherlock S3. What was that? Also firmly cemented my opinion that Elementary is the superior show.

Yes! I just reached the two week mark (I've been doing half an hour every other day, which may not be that much? but it's pretty good considering how inactive I've been >.>) and every time seems shorter and easier. Also it's starting to feel good afterwards. Woohoo for the body's natural happy drugs! :D I have some music that's conducive to running, but I've started listening to podfic and it's AMAZING! I think I might download some bbc radio plays as well in the future.

The third episode just didn't feel cohesive at ALL and the ending climax bit dragged on and on and I was honestly left with no strong feelings either way about any of it, which isn't the best sign for a show, lol. The whole season was very "structure, what structure?" and felt very indulgent, like it was a TV show version of a doodle rather than a painting. If that makes sense.

Agree re Sherlock (incl what you said to who I believe is Unagi?). I feel like the whole season was made up of things I desperately loved despite everything, or things I really disliked despite everything, but have very few feelings about it as a cohesive whole. (Primarily because it wasn't.)

ALSO! Running! Are you using podcast things? I can't remember if you were there when I was talking to Katie about the NHS Couch to 5k thing that I used but oh man that got me achieving~ SO QUICKLY.

who also brought some random friend of hers to tag along for some reason :(

... well then.

Oh, good. Sarah said she had the opposite feelings as me on everything and will explain later, so it's good to know before I hear her out that I'm not crazy. (also yes! that is unagi!)

What podcasts would you reccommend? for now I'm listening to podfic, but it's going to run out eventually.

I knew the friend that visited is occasionally manipulative - at school, she'd ask if I'd want to bake/cook together and then it would turn out to be something for a club event; she would beg me to come out for taco tuesday and then I'd get there and her entire frat would be there and I'd have to sit and make awk small talk - but I figured that she wanted to visit me rather than have a guided tour of San Diego. Apparently I was wrong. ._.

ALL THE PODCASTS!!!! As running things go I really did enjoy the NHS Couch to 5k, which trains you up to running 5k in half an hour, but when I outstripped that I started listening to BBC History Hour or BBC Women's Hour podcasts and they both kept me going for a long time because they were just so interesting. (The History Hour one in particular is, while somewhat royals-centric, still really good for world~ history -- the tagline is something like history by those who saw it, and I enjoyed listening to it a lot!)

To continue the other conversation, this girl is clearly a vowel. Or maybe a Y. >.>. Sorry bro, that is really disappointing even if not a total shock :|

I am doing couch to 5k - there's a separate podcast for it?

I also started out doing couch to 5k (though eventually I stopped doing the program for some unremebered reason). I can't totally run a 5k now but I can to about 2 to 2.5 miles (depending on what kind of running day I am having).

Every other day works out to like ~4 days a week which is one day than I do! Do you run in the morning? I do and I read somewhere that if you run in the morning you are more likely to stick with it (though you obvs don't have to run at 6am like I do).

Also, wow, hello, apparently I have a lot of words about running.

Also your friend is dumb. Why would she come to SD to hang out with the glory that is you and drag some one along with her? Doesn't she know how hanging out with the Parish(es) works? You devote all of your time to the Parish(es) you're hanging out with and every single second is amazing and magical.

Come visit me! I will shower you with good friend vibes~~

I can't get myself early enough in the morning to avoid the SD sun, so I usually go at night just before dinner.

I know, right. And I totally will...once I have money.

Yes hello that was Unagi!

Let's be friends? I write very good letters if that's your kind of thing.

Yay! Is there a PM feature on lj? Should I just try to dig your email out of the massive yuletide chain? Alternatively, S or N could probably give either one of us our address/email...
