Aug. 31st, 2009 11:20 amI actually have friends!~ there's this girl I met from orientation and like 25 people from her school came to Berkeley, so by hanging out with her, I usually end up chilling with four incredibly intelligent, sarcastic, dgaf guys and this one spacey russian girl. <3 One of the guys reminds me of Tablo, and another one is impassive and makes me think some woodland creature. perhaps a red panda. On Saturday we walked around San Francisco and took group pictures places (which made me feel like someone in a drama, where they always have the picture of everyone happy that they gaze at soulfully- now I actually have a group~). My roommate and Angela came, too, so there were ten of us, and Tablo was constantly counting us like a mother duck when he wasn't saying things like "this bus has great torque" and "I hate that frequency!" or taking pictures in childish excitement at the seals. We almost didn't lose anyone, but then the Red Panda wandered off to a different exit of the bart station when we got back to berkeley.
Anyhow, Raven likes to keep the door open, Carol's roommate is a sophmore, and Angela is kind of scared of her roommate, so there are people constantly hanging out in our room, filtering in with their laptops to do chem homework or discussing math or even just coming to sit around (after shuffling around the hall a few times, in the case of this kind of pathetic boy simon) till 1. It's a nice feeling~
We were in a secondhand bookstore yesterday and the owner wanted to go into the back for a few minutes so he gave me a free book in exchange for keeping watch. :D:D I'm so excited to read The Once and Future King~
The package my mum sent got here so now I've a water heater for tea and a nongraphing calculator for chem. :D I wish chem labs were easier, but I guess it's supposed to be hard. It doesn't help that I found a decal class (classes taught by students for 1 or 2 units) called Chinese for Restaurants that's on Thurday nights that, if taken, will quite interrupt any scramble the night before my Friday labs to get work done. Oh well, it'll be worth it. Speaking of which, I had taekwondo today and realized that it's quite funny to be taking that and singing at the same time- on Mondays and Wednesdays I'll strain my throat yelling when I punch, and Tuesdays and Thursdays I'll have to sound melodious. I hope this won't be a problem. xD I'm also taking Math 1A, which is supposedly beginning calculus but everyone in it has already taken Calculus in high school (read: not me). I'm hoping it'll work out somehow, considering I need that class for my major and all my friends are taking it so they can help me study. The teacher has an accent just like someone from Monty Python, so at least it'll be amusing. :)
